PLAN A BIRTHDAY PARTY
Here are a few ideas:
Children make pretty princess jewelry out of their favorite sparkly PLAY-DOH colors. "Gold" necklaces with heart-shaped "rubies" and "diamonds", or beautiful pearl bracelets and rings. Materials Needed: Shimmer PLAY-DOH compound, string (optional), and Imaginations Activity: Children can make the entire jewelry "object" out of PLAY-DOH compound, or mom can provide string and help children attach their "gems" and wear them! Just make a ball and pinch them around the string. If you have plastic tiaras, they can even decorate the tiaras with PLAY-DOH compound.
Children work together to sculpt a pirate Materials Needed: PLAY-DOH compound, picture of a pirate Activity: children split up the pieces of the pirate (eye patch, peg leg, parrot on shoulder, body), lay the pieces out on the table, and work together to makeĆ¢€™ their own pirate!
Children try to pin a paper tail on a PLAY-DOH donkey Materials Needed: PLAY-DOH compound, Imagination, Paper Activity: Children work together to make a large donkey or other favorite animal out of PLAY-DOH compound, (see Fresh Ideas! for ways to make animals) leaving off the tail. A grown-up holds the donkey in the center of the table while children take turns closing their eyes and trying to stick paper tails onto it (in the right place!)
Children create their own farm Materials Needed: PLAY-DOH compound, Imagination Activity: Children create a farm by pretending to be their favorite animal and sculpting that animal out of PLAY-DOH compound, building their pen, feeding them, and playing with other animals.
Children play Tic-Tac-Toe with PLAY-DOH compound Materials needed: PLAY-DOH compound, Imagination Activity: Children make a 3-D tic tac toe board out of PLAY-DOH compound and play with their personalized PLAY-DOH x's and o's.
