Using the basic shapes key above, follow the easy step-by-step instructions below to make your PLAY-DOH creation. Keep practicing, and you’ll get better at making all of the shapes. Use our color suggestions, or try your own! The less shapes you use, the more simple your creation. The more shapes you add, the more complex it becomes.

Print out instructions


Roll a large oval for the body. Then roll a large cone for the tail.


Roll 4 short, thick pieces of rope and shape into legs as shown.


Attach tail to body. Try putting a couple of bends in the tail to make it look natural. Attach legs to body.


Roll a large, thick piece of rope. Bend into an “L” shape and attach to body for the head. Roll 2 balls. Attach 2 circles to each ball and place on top of head for the eyes. Roll a small, thin piece of rope and attach to head for mouth. Roll 2 small balls. Pinch to flatten and attach to back of head for spikes. Roll 2 short, thin pieces of rope and attach to tip of tail as shown. Leapin’ lizards! You are well on your way to becoming a master PLAY-DOH artist!
