Get an old shoe box and cut a hole in the top, big enough for a hand to reach in. Put one or more objects inside the box and have players try to guess what they are. As long as objects are small enough to fit inside, you can include anything you'd like!
Here are some fun ideas: sock, gift bow, dry sponge, deflated balloon, and golf ball.
Find a plastic bottle cap and a small piece of clean Styrofoam from a disposable cup, plate, or takeout container. Cut a circle the size of the cap.
Use a ballpoint pen to draw a picture or symbol on it - make sure to press hard. (Hint: You'll need to write letters backwards, or they'll show up flipped when stamped.)
Glue the Styrofoam onto the cap and let it dry for at least two hours. Ink up with a marker and stamp away!
Dress up in your most snuggly PJs, slip on rain boots, and grab your umbrellas. March in a pajama parade around the neighborhood, humming and singing songs about rainy days. See if you can get other families to join in, too!
Here are some ideas to get you started:
. "Singing in the Rain" . "It's Raining, It's Pouring" . "I Can See Clearly Now" . "Itsy-Bitsy Spider" . "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"
The person with the next birthday goes first and writes the first line of the poem. (Make it as wacky as you want!) Fold the paper to hide what you wrote, and pass it to the next person, announcing the last word written. The next person does the same, and so on.
You can choose to rhyme or not rhyme and pass it around as many times as you'd like. Save it for a silly bedtime story full of surprises!
Place a blank piece of paper on a surface with a funny texture and gently rub a crayon on the paper to pick up the texture pattern. Make as many as you'd like and hang them around the house. Then have family members try to guess what they are. Here are some fun ideas to get you started: brick, bottom of a shoe, leaf, bark, bathroom tiles, basket, and computer keys.
Get a piece of paper and crayons or markers. Make your name or a word describing yourself into a Cadoo Code Cracker and hang it on the door to your room. Here are a few examples to jumpstart your creative juices:
Print and fill out a Cranium Time Capsule sheet. Gather small items to represent your current favorite things and draw pictures of what you think your family and house will look like in the future. Pack it up in a box or a clean potato chip canister, seal it with tape, and mark it with a special date for the big unveiling!
