Fun in the future
When your guests arrive, encourage them to think of something fun they haven't done in a long time. For some people, it might be windsurfing. For others, a simple bubble bath. Pass out small strips of paper and have guests write down the thing they want to do more of in the near future. Put the paper into a hat or bowl. Later in the evening, take turns picking plans from the bowl and trying to guess whose plan it is!

Statue
One person is nominated to be the "Statue." At some point during the evening, the Statue "freezes" mid-whatever-they're-doing, and stands perfectly still. Gradually, as people notice, they also freeze. Eventually, everyone in the room will be frozen, and the last person still moving becomes the next Statue.

Make-your-own dessert buffet
Lay out a spread of simple cookies or plain cupcakes along with a variety of edible decorations -- frosting, fresh fruit, colored sugars, chocolate chips, candy sprinkles -- anything you think will allow your guests to make the most fabulous desserts possible. Have a camera handy to get a snapshot of these after-dinner masterpieces.

Gift-wrap game
Find a small gift (a funny magnet or keychain, for example) and wrap it as many times as you can, putting it in box after box, layer of paper after layer of paper, bow after bow, making the package many times larger than the size of the item inside. (This is a fun way to reuse old wrapping paper and boxes before recycling them.) At your party, gather the guests in a circle and play some music as your guests pass the gift around. When you stop the music, the person holding the gift starts unwrapping. When the mood strikes, start the music again to signal the guests to pass the package -- every time the music stops, they'll unwrap more layers. Whoever finally gets to the gift gets to keep it!

For those in need
Have your guests bring something to donate to charity -- perhaps a children's toy or an article of warm clothing. Place a container by the entrance so that when people arrive they can deposit their items. During the evening, have a game tournament, karaoke contest, dance-off, or any other fun competition you think your guests will enjoy -- and let the winner choose the charity that will receive the donations from the party.
