Photo postcards
If a picture really is worth a thousand words, this could be the longest letter you'll ever write. All you do is pick a favorite photo of you and a friend together, write your friend's address on the back, stamp it, and drop it in the mail, like a postcard. The picture alone will bring back great memories, and these days, finding an actual photo in the mailbox packs way more surprise than an e-mail attachment.
Talking letter
Use a recordable CD (or a cassette tape) to record a letter to a pal. Include songs, sound effects, your dog barking - any fun sound from your life - and decorate the case with recent photos of yourself. Friends can catch up on the events in your life and listen to your voice while driving to the office, making dinner, or working out.
Letter quiz
Create a multiple choice letter and send it to family and friends. For each question, include the correct answer as well as a few funny wrong ones and see if everyone can guess what you've been up to. Download our free Letter Quiz - all you have to do is provide the answers - or create your own quiz from scratch. Don't forget to include an answer key!

Off-seasons greetings
Avoid the rush and surprise your friends by sending out your holiday cards at an unusual time of year. Why not commemorate less popular holidays, such as Arbor Day or Groundhog Day? You'll have more time to write the cards, and they won't get lost or overlooked in the holiday shuffle.
