How PROJECT ZAMBI Will Help
Fifty percent of Hasbro's net profits from the worldwide sales of ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT will be donated to Hasbro's PROJECT ZAMBI Fund, which will support programs that provide direct services to children orphaned by AIDS in Africa. Hasbro has committed to donating a minimum of $500,000 (in U.S. dollars) to the Fund, beginning in 2009. *
The PROJECT ZAMBI Fund, which is supported in part by sales of ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT, will begin making grants in late 2009 through the Hasbro Children's Fund. Please check back in late 2009 for more information. As we begin distribution of the funds, we will post information on the programs we are supporting and the progress they are making in assisting children orphaned by AIDS in Africa.

The Chikumbuso Women and Orphans Project
The Chikumbuso Women and Orphans Project began in January 2005 with one widow and her seven orphan children. It has grown to include sixty widows, thirty single mothers, and over three hundred school children. The program is based in Ng'ombe township in Lusaka, Zambia and serves widows, orphans and grandmothers whose lives have been changed by the devastating effect of HIV/AIDS.
This community was created to help vulnerable victims of the AIDS epidemic care for one another and become strong together. For more information please visit http://www.chikumbuso.com
Mary Fisher
Mary Fisher, a world-renowned textile artist and special representative of The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), contributed her assistance to PROJECT ZAMBI because of her passion for the cause. Mary and her team facilitated an artistic workshop for the Chikumbuso orphans during which they created the original fabric designs and drawings featured on the ears and feet of ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT.
