Hasbro conducts its business in accordance with the highest ethical and business standards, and we are committed to using factories that treat workers with dignity and respect.
Fifteen years ago, we created the Hasbro Global Business Ethics Principles based on International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions. These principles have served to guide Hasbro’s sourcing policies and monitoring standards through the years. Hasbro’s Global Ethics Principles prohibit child labor, forced labor, excessive work hours, discrimination and abuse. At the same time, the principles protect workers’ rights to legal wages, freedom of association and a safe and healthy working environment. These principles create a standard that all factories must commit to in order for Hasbro to do business with the factory.
We recognize that factories making Hasbro product (both Hasbro owned and third party facilities) are not perfect workplaces. When there are known areas of non-compliance we work with factories to improve standards and improve the conditions for the workers producing our products. Ultimately, however, if a factory is unwilling or unable to make necessary improvements to workplace standards, Hasbro will not continue to do business with the factory.
