Hasbro has also taken innovative steps in remediation technology to improve the environment in a former industrial site inherited as part of a business acquisition in the early 1990’s.

Hasbro is in the process of remediating a former manufacturing facility in the Midwest U.S. through phytoremediation with the support of state and local officials.

This process uses the microbial systems living in the roots of plants within a constructed wetland to break down contaminants in the groundwater. Through this natural system, it is expected that the site will be remediated and the land returned to a natural wetland.
